New FEPE President Tom Goddard announces next year’s June Congress in Sorrento is now open for registration
FEPE International is holding its next annual Congress in Sorrento from June 6th to 8th 2018 and the Congress, one of the biggest events in the Out of Home calendar, is now open for registration.
New FEPE president Tom Goddard says: “Every year the FEPE International Congress gets bigger in terms of delegate numbers from across the world and better, we hope, in its content. It’s a unique and uniquely valuable event in Out of Home and we look forward to welcoming old and new friends in Sorrento.
“Registration is now open we urge members and non-member to register as quickly as possible as we estimate demand will be higher than ever this year for an unmissable event in a spectacular location.”
The Congress, which will take place at the Hilton Sorrento Palace, will welcome more than 300 delegates to a wide-ranging event including a full conference programme covering all the key issues of the day, the announcement of the 2018 FEPE Creative Awards and a full exhibition space.
As ever the Congress will provide superb networking opportunities and a range of challenging and stimulating content exploring the broader and fast changing media environment in which Out of Home is playing a fundamental and expanding role.
With Out of Home taking a greater share of media budgets in many territories across the world, the medium is now recognised as an increasingly dynamic and core element of many brands’ promotional expenditure. Delegates will have a unique opportunity to exchange ideas and gain a worldwide perspective on how OOH is developing.
The importance of creativity will once again be highlighted with a number of awards, including the FEPE Creative Award and further accolades for Life Achievement, Leadership and Technical Innovation.

Piccadilly Lights Brings Colour to Life for Countdown to Switch-On
#PiccadillyOn lets you sponsor a unique piece of digital history at one of the most iconic spots in London
The countdown has begun for the world-famous Piccadilly Lights to be switched back on, after over nine months in darkness for major renovation work. To mark the moment, Landsec, the UK’s largest listed commercial property company and owner of the Lights, is launching the #PiccadillyOn campaign, bringing colour to life in aid of Barnardo’s.
The #PiccadillyOn campaign, which launches today, invites people around the world to be part of this remarkable moment in London’s history. For a minimum donation of £2.00, people can sponsor a unique colour chip which will form part of a 3D countdown clock on the screen, before forming part of a choreographed reveal moment in October.
At the moment of relaunch, the screens will be powered up with a spectacular display of the sponsored colours, each of which will be shown on screen and live streamed on Facebook for fans across the globe to watch.
Anyone can own a unique piece of London’s digital history by visiting www.PiccadillyOn.London, where they can choose their colour to support Barnardo’s and be part of this historic moment. Supporters will receive their unique digital colour chip to post on their social media channels.ings Colour to Life for Countdown to Switch-On
At a FEPE executive meeting in London this week, former Executive Director John Ellery was presented with the whiskey-related gift we promised him at the FEPE gala dinner in Stockholm recently.
As previously announced, John will remain with FEPE, but with a reduced day to day involvement while Bob Wootton takes on the role of Executive Director with immediate effect.
Pictured with John are outgoing FEPE President Matthew Dearden and new President, Tom Goddard.
Ocean Outdoor Group Chairman Tom Goddard is new FEPE President
FEPE International has elected Ocean Outdoor Group Chairman Tom Goddard as its new President.
FEPE International represents Out of Home media owners, agencies and technology partners worldwide.
Goddard, who has led CBS Outdoor’s international division, Viacom OOH, Metro Advertising and Maiden Outdoor and is also Chairman of MarketingForce, has been a FEPE board member since 2015.
He takes over from former Clear Channel International Europe President Matthew Dearden.
Dearden says: “In electing Tom as our new President we are fortunate to have someone to lead FEPE to even greater heights as a truly global force in the Out of Home industry at a time of great media change.”
Goddard says: “Under past presidents Antonio Vincenti and then Matthew FEPE has been transformed into a truly dynamic organization, reflecting the growing importance of Out of Home worldwide.
“I hope to continue that process and also help to navigate change as the industry responds to the many and varied challenges facing all media in the digital era.”
FEPE International has also confirmed the appointment of former ISBA director of advertising and media Bob Wootton as its new Executive Director. Wootton succeeds John Ellery, a winner of FEPE’s Lifetime Achievement Award last year, who will be staying with the organization in the newly created post of Ambassador.
